Bookish Boyfriends: A Date With Darcy by Tiffany Schmidt - Spoiler Free Review

Here's another book review for you guys! I hope you find it useful. 😋

Rating: ⭐⭐.5

Synopsis: Merrilee Campbell, 16, thinks boys are better in books, chivalry is dead, and there’d be nothing more romantic than having just one guy woo her like the heroes in classic stories. She’s about to get the chance to test these daydreams when she, her best friend, Eliza, and her younger sister, Rory, transfer into Reginald R. Hero High, where all their fantasies come true—often with surprising consequences.

Personal Review: As you can see, I gave it only 2.5 stars out of five. The reason behind this is mainly because I was disappointed, bored and not really interested in the plot. I'm going to admit that it was cute at some points, but that's it. I was expecting more fluffiness, and cute bookish moments. But I just felt like the characters were too forced. Also, maybe this is just me, I didn't like the classic aspect of it. All those references to Romeo and Juliet and Pride and Prejudice didn't really captivated me! Also, this guy at the beginning who started loving Merrilee the moment he saw her, like who falls in love that fast!? I guess this is a Romeo and Juliet parallels, but as I said, I didn't like those parallels. I was also very bored. I was always checking how many pages were left before another chapter, before the end of the book. 😅

Favorite thing about the book: The cover... I love the pink! 🙊

Other books by Tiffany Schmidt you should read: I haven't read any other thing by her yet, but I will be checking out whatever she puts out there next! On goodreads, it says that this book is the first in a series, duology or trilogy (idk), but I will be checking out the sequels for sure and give this another fair chance! 😀

Thank you for reading!
