Hi! ❤

OKAY GUYS. I finished a really popular book that has been on my shelves for like two years. We Were Liars was simply amazing and breathtaking. It was insane. Let's go on with the full spoiler free review! 😌

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Synopsis

A beautiful and distinguished family.
A private island.
A brilliant, damaged girl; a passionate, political boy.
A group of four friends—the Liars—whose friendship turns destructive.
A revolution. An accident. A secret.
Lies upon lies.
True love.
The truth.

Read it.

And if anyone asks you how it ends, just LIE.

Personal review: As you can see by the synopsis, it's a very mysterious and dark contemporary. It was extremely good and kept me on edge the whole time. This book keeps you guessing every time you get to the next page. It's also pretty heartbreaking. It deals with loss, accidents, mental health, family, love. AHH it was incredible. I'm at a loss of words because the ending made my jaw dropped. It kinda sucks because I can't say a lot without spoiling it. It's the kind of book you go into without knowing anything. All you need to know is that the book was amazing, I loved it, but I would not read it again only because it's so sad and dark! But that doesn't mean it was excellent! OH AND THE WRITING. E. Lockhart's writing style was simply gorgeous. The way she wrote was so beautiful, and it felt like you were reading tons of pages at a time, when you only read like two. This author is able to condense stuff very, very well. 💞

Other books by E. Lockhart you should read: This is the only book I've read from her, but I know she has a book called Genuine Fraud that I really want to check out! 😊

As always, thank you for reading and have a nice weekend!
